Gimme the money

We went to SS2 to buy some food and we passed a beggar who was begging for money from those who walked by him.

We felt sorry for him, so while we were choosing what we want to get from the bakery shop, we decided to buy a packet of cheese buns and a sausage bun for him.

So, on our way back to our car, the man held out his two hands, begging for money. LK gave him the buns, but he refused and looked back at us in a weird stare.

Both of us were shocked!

We didn't give him money just in case the "beneficiary" will not be the beggar himself but some other people or some syndicate.

Is there something that we didn't know about why he refused the food although we are not going to charge him for it...?

Do you want fries with it?

Went to Glasgow recently for a short holiday, and at the same time "bring my sister back to Malaysia".

After a long flight, my sis came to the Glasgow Airport to pick me and also bring the winter jacket for me. We took the bus back to city centre and after taking a wrong bus (that was suppose to bring us back to Central Station, near Euro Hostel where we were staying) that was almost taking us back to the airport, we alighted halfway.

Thank God my sis saw Euro Hostel not too far from the place that we got down from the bus, so we walked for about 2 to 3 km towards the hostel. I wanted to check in ASAP as I do not want to drag my luggage to everywhere I go.

But as I am so hungry, we made a detour and ate in KFC. The chicken panini looked so delicious, and I knew I must have it!!

I told my sis to request for unsalted fries as well...but guess what? There is no need to request as the fries come unsalted and you add your own salt!

That is the way all fries should be in fast food restaurant. Save on the salt, and I think most health conscious customers (who are still able to eat fast food once in a while) would be happy with this concept.

GoodYear F1 GSD3 Tires

Tires are one of the most important items on a vehicle , cause it is the only surface that makes contact with ground (tarmac). Without a good set of tires, the vehicle won't respond as you want it to respond, especially during emergency times.

After some surveying, I found that the GoodYear (GD) GSD3 F1 tires are one of the best around. They are fairly good on dry, but it beats all competitors on wet. You can check out the test done by tirerack here.

But anyway, since price of tires are going up and these are the last of the "made in Germany" F1 tires I found for my size, I decided to buy them to keep for a few months. The proper way to store them is found in this wonderful article. What I did was to keep them in my house, and wrap them using plastic wrappers (available in normal hardware store, ACE, or Home-Fix). You can see the before and after pictures.

Cost Cutting Program Hits Burger Stall in KLIA

When we were in Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) on 11-Nov-08 night, having a simple fish burger snack, we came across some 'cost cutting' technique used. Smaller sized cheese with miniature fish patty in it. We didn't expect this kind of food quality (in terms of taste) at all...sheesh. I'll think twice next time before buying any value'able meals!

Kids...

Children's Church was suppose to happen last Sunday, but due to some miscommunication, many didn't know that it will resume only in January 2009.

Thank God I had done the Part 1 of the main lesson last week and I also had a rough idea on the Part 2.

At the beginning, I sat at the main hall to listen to the sermon, then my fellow teacher told me that there was no Children's Church. I rushed to my Sunday School class and there were 13 children altogether.

Teachers from other classes were also caught in the sudden surprise and were thinking what to do as most did not prepare for the lesson.

However, slowly all children went into their respective classes, some were still wondering around.

In my class, I was wondering how to occupy them. I took out the activity sheet and asked them to cut some pictures so that we can play picture bingo.

We had a nice time playing the game. The children were cooperative and they seem to enjoy it very much. It's easy when the children listen to the teacher and give their attention (except for some who found that their comic book is more interesting).

When it was almost time to dismiss, I asked them if they would like to play another round. Some shouted yes and some screamed no..

One of the children who sat in front suggested to me, "Teacher Wei Li, why don't we vote like in the election where people can vote for Hannah Yeoh, DAP, BN, PKR.." Wow..I was impressed. The children in my class are aged between 7 to 8 only...

I listen to her suggestion and only 2 were interested to play while the rest either didn't respond or didn't want to play anymore.

Earlier, when the class has just started, I asked if there is any volunteer who would like to do the opening prayer before the class and one boy said he can do it... "Lord Jesus, please cleanse the food that we are going to eat...."

Children are just so cute. Sometimes they are naughty, but it's actually very fun to teach them although I do suffer from a mild sore throat after lessons.

Looking forward to more lessons with the children, provided that they will listen to me and I have my helper back with me =P
